Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical Float

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical Float unit serving a combined 61-bed environment, with day shift ratios of 1:5
• Manage a diverse patient population including surgical patients (total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, general) and medical patients (CHF, CVA, shortness of breath, diabetic complications)
• Monitor patients on telemetry; confirm rhythm strips read by monitor technicians
• Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen devices
• Float to other units as required per department needs
• Participate in call/standby requirements in accordance with unit scheduling practices

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure eligible for practice in North Dakota
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience level consistent with Medical Surgical nursing standards
• Ability to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Willingness and ability to fulfill call/standby obligations as scheduled
• Ability to float to additional units as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical float pool or multi-unit environment
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and strip confirmation workflows
• Experience managing post-surgical patients across multiple specialties (orthopedics, bariatrics, urology)
• Comfort working with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow respiratory support equipment
