Veterinary Technician

Job Summary The Veterinary Technician is responsible for providing the care, examination, evaluation, and treatment of animals in accordance with established policies and under the direction of veterinarians. Key Responsibilities Veterinary Care Record and monitor animal health. Handle and restrain animals. Collect samples and perform tests. Administer treatments and assist with surgeries. Perform dental and diagnostic procedures. Maintain cleanliness and sterilize equipment. Client Communication Greet clients and obtain histories. Discuss medical recommendations and provide after‑care instructions. Maintain records and handle client communications. Communication and Culture Promote positive communication and inclusivity. Technology Maintain records and manage schedules using various software. Qualifications Experience Experience as a Veterinary Technician or related schooling. Veterinary Technician licensure, required. Skills Strong customer service and communication skills. Strong attention to detail, multi‑tasking, and time‑management skills. Proficient with computers, specifically a working knowledge of Microsoft products. Physical Demands Must be able to lift, carry, and handle animals and other items up to 50 lbs. unassisted. For animals and other items over 50 lbs., assistance from another team member is required. Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Emotional Demands Must be comfortable with the emotional aspect of work in the veterinary field and be emotionally resilient. Must be comfortable handling a variety of animals with a wide range of behavioral and medical needs, including the use of humane euthanasia. Transportation Reliable transportation, required.
