Travel Nurse RN - OR - Operating Room - $1,808 per week

Position Overview TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Fort Worth, Texas. Duration: 13 weeks, 36 hours per week, 12‑hour day shifts. Responsibilities Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients and provide pre‑ and post‑surgery care and education. Perform basic bedside care, administer and record medication, report adverse reactions. Serve as communication liaison between patients' families and the operating team. Ensure correct procedure is performed on correct patient. Initiate and educate on patient medication and home care plans. Additionally, depending on role (circulating, scrub, first assistant): Circulating OR Nurse Duties Respond to comfort and safety needs. Accurate care and handling of specimens. Monitor equipment used during surgery. Inventory surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure. Scrub OR Nurse Duties Select and handle surgical instruments and supplies during procedures. Inventory surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure. RN First Assistant Duties Assist physicians with direct surgical care. Help control bleeding. Suture patients after surgery. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, stoop, and lift up to 20 pounds; lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. May be exposed to chemicals or infectious diseases. Requirements ACLS, BLS, NIH certification and 2 years recent acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse, or RN first assistant. *Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
