Acute Medicine Clinical Nurse - FT Days

Unit Details Unit 2400 Acute Care Medicine at Barnes‑Jewish Hospital (South Campus), 17‑bed unit. Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of nursing standards. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance, and professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual care plans with defined goals in collaboration with interprofessional team members and patients or caregivers, ensuring communication across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs. Maintains constant state of alertness and works safely as a safety‑sensitive position.
