JOB INFORMATION
Senior Electrical Engineer positions supervise and coordinate in the work of subordinates engaged in the design, review, and construction of proposed building and right-of-way electrical facility projects to ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical ordinances, codes, and regulations; electrical asset management; research and determine the acceptability of new materials and methods of construction; attend meetings and make presentations; prepare information bulletins; develop and write applicable codes; prepare reports and correspondence; and perform other duties as assigned.
Senior Electrical Engineer positions in the Public Utilities Department provide detailed electrical engineering design review for the department's Capital Improvement Program; review electrical engineering design plans and specifications and complete technical studies for water and wastewater facility projects and systems; coordinate the department's renewable energy portfolio including identification of new projects and expansion of renewables; provide technical assistance; monitor and track energy usage data to identify trends and ways to reduce energy usage and cost; andprepare and monitor budget for section and/or electrical projects.

- Possession of a valid certification as a Plan Examiner from International Code Council.
- Proof of registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer with the State of California.
