Bike Mechanic Trainee

Are you passionate about bikes and looking to turn your hands-on experience into a long-term career? At Whizz, we're looking for motivated individuals to join our team as Bike Mechanic Trainees.

This role is designed for candidates with some mechanical experience and hands-on experience repairing or maintaining bikes whether through personal projects, freelance work, or other informal experience who may not yet have professional bike shop experience.

You'll work alongside experienced mechanics, receive hands-on training, and learn how to maintain and repair our fleet of e-bikes used by delivery riders across New York City. Successful trainees who complete the probation period will have the opportunity to transition into a full Bike Mechanic role with increased compensation and additional benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assembling and preparing new e-bikes in our workshop
• Learn how to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical bike issues
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on our fleet
• Support senior mechanics with day-to-day workshop operations
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and workshop guidelines
