Job Description:

The RN in the Med Surg unit will provide comprehensive care to patients with a variety of common diagnoses including CHF, diabetic complications, pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, hip fractures, COVID-19, and post-operative cases.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to a diverse patient population in the Med Surg unit.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses, including infrequent titration of drips such as Heparin and Bumex.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including charge nurses and house supervisors, to ensure optimal patient care.
• Assist with floating requirements as necessary and support other departments as "helping hands".

Requirements:

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Experience in general medical-surgical nursing with possible exposure to general pediatric patients.
• Ability to work night shifts with every other weekend requirement.
• Willingness to report within 30 minutes if placed on low census standby.
