Value for our customers.If you think you can see yourself delivering our mission and pursuing our goals with us, then check out the job description below!What you’ll do:Design, build, test, and maintain web applications and backend services end to end, from user interfaces through APIs and data modelsEngineer features around live two-way audio and video communication between users in the field and remote teamsBuild features for reviewing, searching, and managing recorded videoBuild and deploy containerized software that runs in both edge and cloud environments and holds up in denied, disrupted, intermittent, and limited bandwidth conditionsBuild mobile and wearable applications, including hands-free interfaces for users in the fieldIntegrate AI and machine learning capabilities into user-facing features, working closely with the AI engineers who build themImplement authentication, authorization, and other security controls across applications and services, and contribute to the documentation required for security authorizationBuild dashboards and administrative tools that help support teams monitor and manage deployed systemsDocument code, APIs, architecture, and deployment procedures, and present design tradeoffs, test results, and demos to a diverse audience, including senior leadership and customer stakeholdersWhat you’ll need to succeed:At least 5 years of hands-on full stack development in Python and TypeScript, building web applications and backend services that run in productionStrong experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Python web frameworks such as FastAPI or Django, HTML and CSS, REST API design, and SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQLExperience developing in Linux environments, including Bash or Python scripting for automation, diagnostics, and deploymentExperience deploying containerized services with Docker, Kubernetes, and continuous integration and delivery pipelines on AWSExperience building real-time audio and video features with WebRTC or similar technologies, along with recorded video playback and processingExperience building software that operates with limited or intermittent connectivity, including offline data storage, retry behavior, and data sync once a connection returnsExperience with identity and access management, including OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, and role-based access controlExperience integrating AI and machine learning services into applications, such as search or conversational features built on large language modelsWorking knowledge of Android or cross-platform mobile development, ideally on wearable devicesStrong troubleshooting and secure coding skills, and familiarity with the security requirements federal systems must meet to receive an authority to operateAbility to work with limited direction in an innovation environment where requirements evolve and priorities shift with end-users and stakeholdersStrong written communication skills, with the ability to document designs and test results for both engineering and customer audiencesSALARY RANGE: $160,000 - $170,000The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
