The company develops Specs, advanced eyewear that seamlessly integrates digital experiences into the physical world.Specs feature see-through lenses that place digital objects directly into three-dimensional space, powered by Snap OS, a proprietary, context-aware operating system designed for natural interaction with your hands and voice.Specs Inc. also provides Lens Studio, a full suite of advanced developer tools that powers immersive augmented reality experiences across Specs, Snapchat, and other services.We're looking for a RF Hardware Engineer to join the Spectacles team!What you'll do:Design and/or develop highly integrated RF and wireless systems that contribute to exciting launches of hardware here at SpectaclesCollaborate closely with internal and external teams such as mechanical, software, industrial design teams, and suppliersCreate schematics that include not only RF components, but also high speed digital systems, power supplies, sensors, etc.Perform, supervise, and/or review layout for PCB, flex, and rigid-flex designsDevelop test plans, perform RF validation and generate validation reportsDebug hardware issues, including baseband and RF circuits.Design electrical and wireless prototypes for new product conceptsAuthor clear and comprehensive documentationKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong RF engineering fundamentals including RF system analysis and link budgetsThorough understanding of RF PCB design, associated constraints, impedance matching, and/or filter tuningExperience with hardware level board design including schematic capture and CAD layoutAbility to develop and execute test plans to validate circuits, components, and electrical systemsDemonstrated ability to use common RF and electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power suppliesFamiliarity with tools like Cadence Allegro, OrCAD Capture, Advanced Design Systems, and/or MatlabUnderstanding of RF behavior and fundamentals including impedance matching, noise figure, mixing, linearity, and smith chartsWorking knowledge of wireless communication standards including WiFi, BT/BLE, GNSS, 4G LTE, 5G, etcUnderstanding of layout strategies that mitigate desense and/or EMI, enable signal integrity, and provide isolationExperience designing systems that include high-speed digital interfaces such as MIPI CSI / DSI, PCIe, SDIO / eMMC, UFS, etc.Proficiency with RF simulation/design tools (e.g., CST Microwave Studio, Keysight ADS, XFdtd, etc.)Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as electrical engineering or equivalent years of experienceDemonstrated experience designing integrated RF/electrical circuits and systems, RF system analysis, component and chipset selectionAbility to travel including domestic and international (up to 15%)10+ years relevant experiencePreferred Qualifications:Master's or PhD in Wireless, Electromagnetics, Electrical engineering or related fieldAbility to solder small discrete components such as 0402s, 0201s and 01005sExperience designing and/or scoping integrated RF and electrical components within a single moduleIf you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please don't be shy and provide us some information.Default Together Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary range for this position is $229,000-$343,000 annually.Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $218,000-$326,000 annually.Zone C: The base salary range for this position is $195,000-$292,000 annually. This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
