Physician Surgical Oncology

Job Summary Geisinger is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Surgical Oncology Physician to join our growing and dynamic Department of Surgery in Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV). This role supports an expanding surgical oncology service line and offers the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment focused on delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. The physician will collaborate closely with experienced surgical leaders, medical and radiation oncology partners, and subspecialty services. They will focus on general surgical oncology, managing a broad range of conditions including foregut and midgut diseases, pancreaticobiliary pathology, melanoma, endocrine and soft tissue tumors, as well as regional cancer therapies. Key Responsibilities Practice within a tertiary care center offering strong subspecialty support. Work with a dedicated team including nurses, a Physician Assistant, and a nurse navigator. Maintain a call schedule of 1 in 6 weekends and use EPIC as the electronic medical record. Participate actively in program development and growth initiatives. Provide clinical care in a multidisciplinary, team‑based model of cancer care. Qualifications MD or DO degree. Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery (and/or Surgical Oncology, as applicable). Completion of an accredited surgical and/or oncology fellowship. Eligibility for Pennsylvania medical licensure. Licensed Medical Doctor in the State of Pennsylvania. Benefits and Compensation Fully paid relocation.
