Registered Respiratory Therapist - NICU

Job Summary: This position requires a Registered Respiratory Therapist specializing in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The ideal candidate will possess a Washington state license and have extensive experience in high-acuity settings. Floating between departments is expected; therefore, flexibility is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory care and support for patients within the NICU.
• Ensure all treatments and procedures are conducted as per established protocols.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create a comprehensive care plan for each patient.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in acuity as necessary.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain clinical competencies.

Work Hours:

• Shift availability: Nights and Days with 3x12-hour schedules.
• Weekends required: Every other weekend as per collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Washington state respiratory care license.
• Experience in Level 3 NICU and Level 2 Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings is required.
• Familiarity with NICU III or IV protocols is mandatory.
• Ability to adapt quickly to varied assignments within the unit.
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills.

Please note that staff are considered Variable (VAR) for the unit, which may influence scheduling consistency. Assignments are typically confirmed one to two weeks in advance.
