Position Summary The Dental Department at Lakeshore College is currently seeking a clinical dentist to serve as a supervising dentist in the dental hygiene program for the clinical aspects of the program. Provide an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions (Other duties may be assigned): Assess the outcomes of dental hygiene students’ performance with evaluations that include medical histories, external and internal examinations, coronal polishing, dental charting, and grading radiographs. Prescribing and monitoring radiographs for clinical patients, fluoride treatments, nitrous oxide, laser bacterial reduction, and local anesthetics. Supervising dental hygiene students in the clinical setting. Treatment planning with dental hygiene students and a dental hygiene instructor. Provide feedback on student evaluations and treatment planning. Calibrate with dental hygiene faculty. Qualifications Education and Experience Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree is required. 3 years (6,000 hours) of relevant occupational experience required. At least one year (2,000 hours) of experience must have occurred within the last five years. Certifications, Licensure, Registration Wisconsin State Dental License. Current BLS for Healthcare providers. Current Forward/Medicaid provider (Preferred but not required). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge Knowledge of Lakeshore's mission, vision, and strategic direction. Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Effective interpersonal skills and customer service skills. Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Abilities Adapt quickly to new and changing technology. Perform work accurately and thoroughly, with a high level of accountability and attention to detail. Work independently, as part of a team, and/or with minimal supervision. Present self in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner at all times. Use discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Prioritize and manage multiple projects or tasks, maintaining deadlines. Establish and maintain effective working relationships and relate successfully with staff, students, and all stakeholders. Physical Demands / Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment may require multi‑tasking. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Conditions of Employment Employment conditional on completion of a Background Information Disclosure (BID) with the results acceptable to the College. Must meet and maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) requirements within 5 years of employment. Candidate must show proof of Medical Malpractice Professional Liability Insurance Coverage. Medical Malpractice Professional Liability Insurance Coverage limits of at least $1,000,000 each claim and $3,000,000 aggregate.
