Logistics Analyst I

Location: Houston, TX Duration: 12-month contract Pay Range: $25/hr to $30/hr

Day To Day

• Arrange for and coordinate all aspects of transportation and expediting services required for Capital Projects, Field Engineering, Operations and Maintenance
• Execution of permit loads Determines the method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
• Compliance with all TSA, DOT, and Customs regulations and accurate, efficient preparation of all required paperwork for delay-free forwarding
• Consult with material and equipment suppliers to receive correct information on weights and dimensions of all freight, and provide it to carriers
• Select carriers for transportation and negotiate rates and contracts with carriers. Ensure the selected carrier meets all insurance requirements and contractual obligations
• Continuous involvement with selected carriers and internal project team, throughout the shipment process from carrier selection to successful completion of the shipment
• Manage communication between the third-party logistics vendor and/or carriers, project team, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects
• Consult with material and equipment suppliers and the jobsite to coordinate deliveries and identify, report, and resolve discrepancies

Must-Haves

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree is preferred
• 1-6 years of experience
• Prior experience with freight forwarding and logistics preferred
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Superb organizational skills with strong attention to detail and negotiating skills to resolve problems
• The ability to intuitively follow the logical flow of production and fabrication schedules and understand the obligations involved with contracts and procurement
• Must be team-oriented with the ability to organize time and tasks
