We are seeking a Staff Tax Accountant to assist with year-round client services in Old Hickory, TN . This role involves a mix of monthly accounting for small business clients and the preparation of individual and business tax returns. You will work directly with the firm owner to ensure financial records are accurate and tax filings are completed efficiently.

Core Responsibilities:

• Tax Preparation: Prepare and perform initial review of Individual (1040) and Business (1120/1065/1120S) tax returns using Drake Tax .
• Accounting & Bookkeeping: Manage monthly accounting records and financial statements for small business clients in QuickBooks Online .
• Write-ups: Perform year-end adjustments and trial balance reviews to ensure books are ready for tax preparation.
• Document Management: Assist with client document collection and review to ensure all necessary financial records are secured.
• Reporting: Analyze accounting records and report findings to the firm owner to ensure adherence to professional standards.

Qualifications:

• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Drake Tax and QuickBooks Online is highly preferred.
• Relevant Experience: Previous experience in accounting and income tax return preparation for individuals and small businesses.
• Education/Licensing: Currently licensed CPA or actively pursuing a CPA license is preferred.
• Digital Literacy: Proficient in Office365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable working in a digital office environment.
• Professionalism: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining client data security.
