Salary Schedule: Minimum Wage

Terms of Employment: On Call 5.5 hours per day Nutrition Service Substitutes serve at will, are not employed for any specific length of time and have no property rights in their employment.

Job Goal: To make available attractive, nutritious and palatable cafeteria meals in an efficient, pleasant and clean environment while maintaining federal, state and district guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required

2. Verifiable work and character references

3. Pass fingerprinting background check

Job Duties

1. Prepare or assist in the preparation, service and clean-up of meals using district menus, standardized recipes, designated portion sized and following district menu sanitation procedures.

2. Serve appropriate quantities of food items to meet federal guidelines following offer versus serve.

3. Serve children with a positive attitude.

4. Follow work schedules, plans and organizes duties prior to beginning tasks.

5. Operate a cash register.

6. Store, utilize and dispose of food and supplies following federal, state, local and district regulations.

7. Follow sanitation and safety standards in clean-up and operation of the kitchen and kitchen equipment.

8. Practice a "clean as you go" policy to keep work area clean.

9. Assist in taking and completing inventories as requested.

10.Report equipment needing repairs to the Nutrition Service manager.

11.Report accidents to the Nutrition Service manager.

12.Communicate orally with peers and manager.

13.Exhibit professionalism by maintaining good attendance and adhering to established work schedule.

14.Comply with the Code of Ethics, administrative directives, board policy, state and federal statutes and rules and regulations.

15.Communicate and display courteous and professional behavior toward students, the public, the Immediate Supervisor, School and District Administrators, staff and peers.

16.Safeguard the confidentiality of information pursuant to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and other applicable state and federal statutes.

17.Evenings and weekend work may be required.

18.Perform such other tasks as may be assigned.
