Senior Electrical Engineer – Water/Wastewater Location: Gaithersburg, MD, US The Opportunity Lead Electrical design for water/wastewater projects Provide technical guidance on client standards and expectations to engineering and technician staff in the regional design centers supporting project detailed design Serve as technical expert in electrical power distribution and miscellaneous plant electrical systems for client consultations Support business development related to enhanced Electrical services Build business relationships with clients to understand needs and drivers Additional Project Opportunities Studies – Energy Optimization, Power System Coordination and Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, and Electrical Reliability Analysis Construction inspection and resolution of electrical construction issues Coordination with local electrical utilities on project technical needs Review of supplier submittals Act as a liaison between the local design team, client and remote design teams for Instrumentation and Control design Startup and testing of major electrical equipment The Team As part of BV Operations, your skills will be aligned to projects that support our Integrated Water & Environmental business. You will partner with customers to align people, processes, technologies, and data analytics to modernize water infrastructure, optimize asset use, and meet performance goals. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer’s license in MD or another US jurisdiction 11+ years in electrical design, planning and construction services Consulting and Water/Wastewater experience preferred Experience in medium and low voltage power distribution equipment, including variable frequency drives and standby diesel generators Experience in a client-facing business development role Power system analysis experience in SKM, ETAP, or other analysis software a plus Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program or equivalent experience in engineering work Minimum of 11 years related work experience Must complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, etc.) Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries Certifications Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries.
