CNC Milling & Shaping Machinist - 2nd Shift

Position Summary The Shaping Machinist will independently and safely set up and operate CNC Milling centers and manual shapers. Essential Functions Read and understand process travelers, setup journals, operation sheets and CMM inspection reports to produce complex finished product. Setup, tooling adjustments and program offsets as necessary. Ability to accurately inspect work utilizing various instruments including gages, indicators and micrometers. Perform daily TPM responsibilities. Ability to work in both water-base and oil-base machine coolant Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations. Wear necessary personal protective equipment as required Actively participate in cross-training, cost savings and team activities to improve processes. Maintain appropriate tact and diplomacy in dealings with co-workers, team members and supervisors. Competencies Technical capacity Problem-solving / analysis Initiative Results-driven Experience and Education Minimum of 1 year of aerospace CNC machining experience is required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Degree/certificate from vocation school or college program is a plus, but extensive experience may substitute for education. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Compensation $40000 - $100000 / year Compensation is paid hourly and may be adjusted based on level of experience, overtime and shift.
