MDH Somerset County Health Department, Westover MD

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The Administrative Deputy Health Officer directs and manages administrative activities of the Somerset County Health Department, including supervision, guidance, and policy development subject to final approval of the Health Officer. This position is designated as emergency essential and may require evening and weekend hours. Major programs include: Planning and Communications Prevention Local Behavioral Health Authority

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master's Degree from an accredited university in public health or a related field and five years of professional experience in health service administration, including two years supervising professional staff. A bachelor's degree in public health or a closely related field with an additional two years of experience in health service administration will substitute for the Master's degree.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with budget creation and oversight and grant management. Experience managing public health programs or public health administration.
