Employee Benefits Account Manager

The Employee Benefits Account Manager serves as the main service contact for an assigned routine to moderate book of business with a focus on small to mid-size clients. Prepare analyses, in accordance with client service calendar financial meetings (e.g. post renewal, mid-year, pre-renewal, renewal). Analyses may include but are not limited to; market review analysis, rate and contribution analysis, benchmarking Serve as primary contact with insurance carriers for negotiating and marketing coverage for new business quotes and renewals, including: requesting quotes, evaluating & spreadsheeting options, negotiating rates and benefit features and, preparing renewal or new plan options with executive summary. Detailed understanding of health and ancillary benefit plan designs, billing and claims resolution procedures. Working knowledge in CRM and all carrier employer and broker portals Responsible for acting as the primary service contact between clients and insurance carriers and retaining clients through customer service which includes open and clear communication channels with clients, producers and internal partners. Ensure accurate and timely responses occur between all parties. Inform Account Executives and Producers of escalated service issues Install new group insurance contracts for existing clients or new clients effectively utilizing resources to match client needs. Expected to attend client meetings on site at their location(s). Assisting in the reviewing of claims and managing the client issues around claims handling. As needed, preparation of materials needed for client meetings including but not limited to agendas, reports, calendars, etc. Develop employee memorandum drafts for client to communicate the following; annual renewal changes, enrollment procedures, miscellaneous benefit changes and/or clarifications. Follow system and Account Manager workflow Submit the appropriate notification forms to the commission department Update CRM on an ongoing basis and create and maintain case files that include all critical client information based on implemented workflows. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Required: High school diploma/GED (four-year degree preferred) Minimum three to five years of client service experience, preferably in group benefit insurance Able and willing to travel locally up to 25% of the time High level of computer literacy including working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and MS Office specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Must currently hold life and health insurance license (or must obtain within first 30 days of employment) and retain license by meeting continuing education requirements Sets priorities and manages work flow independently to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
