Staff Engineer – Fintech / Insurtech Remote (US) or Austin, TX $200,000–$235,000 Base + Benefits This is a standout opportunity for a Staff Engineer ready to lead from the front while staying close to the code. The role suits someone who thrives in fast‑paced environments, enjoys solving abstract problems with practical solutions, and wants their work to have real impact. The successful candidate will be hands‑on across the stack, driving complex technical initiatives from design through to delivery. They’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams, shape engineering best practices, and mentor others while still writing high‑quality code. Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver major technical initiatives, ensuring quality, scalability, and velocity. Write and ship production code across a modern 100% TypeScript stack (React + Node). Design and enhance APIs, integrations, and AI‑driven solutions for brokers and underwriters. Work with Product, Design, and Data to transform ambiguity into clear, maintainable solutions. Champion engineering standards: testing, observability, CI/CD, and code reviews. Guide junior and mid-level engineers, while influencing technical culture and architecture. Ideal Profile 5+ years in a modern web stack with a proven record of technical leadership. Experience leading complex projects and contributing significantly to codebases. Strong adaptability with a bias toward incremental, high-value delivery. Bonus: exposure to late‑stage startups (Series D+), big tech, or fintech/insurtech. The Offer Remote‑first role across the US, or based in Austin, TX. Competitive salary: $200k–$235k base.
