This is a firm, non-negotiable requirement because only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program or contract.The company will not provide immigration sponsorship now or in the future and will not pursue an export authorization for this position.Position OverviewA global aerospace and aviation technology organization is seeking an experienced Network Implementation Engineer to join its growing network implementation team.The organization operates a secure, private global network supporting critical aviation, transportation, and other essential industries worldwide. This individual will lead complex network implementations from initial design through activation and support while helping develop the technical capabilities of junior engineers.This is a senior, hands-on networking position. Formal training experience is not required. The ideal candidate is someone who has served as a technical lead, guided junior engineers, reviewed their work, helped them troubleshoot difficult issues, and established consistent engineering standards.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead multiple network implementation projects from initial design through activation, cutover, and ongoing supportConfigure and optimize Cisco routers and switches in production WAN environmentsBuild router configurations using standardized templatesDesign, configure, and troubleshoot BGP routingWork directly with customers and field technicians to manage WAN circuit activationsDevelop detailed network cutover plans and execute production cutoversTroubleshoot complex routing, connectivity, firewall, application, and network-performance issuesServe as an escalation point for advanced technical challengesProvide technical leadership and day-to-day guidance to junior network engineersReview junior engineers work and help ensure implementations follow established standards and best practicesCoach engineers through troubleshooting, network configurations, cutovers, and customer-facing situationsMaintain network documentation, including circuit information, asset records, diagrams, implementation guides, and troubleshooting proceduresConduct post-implementation reviews and recommend improvementsCreate standard operating procedures, implementation playbooks, work instructions, and troubleshooting guidesEvaluate new networking tools and technologies and help the team understand how to use themIdentify process improvements that increase network reliability, scalability, and team efficiencyProvide technical support during calls with existing and prospective customersRequired QualificationsMust be a U.S. citizenMust be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the futureCCNA certificationAt least five years of experience configuring Cisco routers and switches within a production WAN environmentStrong hands-on experience building router configurations using templatesStrong BGP routing experienceKnowledge of OSPF, MPLS, NAT, VPNs, firewalls, and network security principlesPrevious experience leading, mentoring, or providing hands-on technical guidance to junior network engineersAbility to review the work of junior engineers and coach them through complex technical issuesAbility to manage multiple high-visibility network implementation projectsStrong troubleshooting skills across network, routing, firewall, and application environmentsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively with customers, field technicians, engineers, and cross-functional teamsEducation and ExperienceCandidates must meet one of the following requirements:Bachelors degree in a STEM field with at least eight years of relevant experienceAdvanced degree in a related field with at least five years of relevant experiencePreferred QualificationsCCNP certificationExperience developing or delivering technical trainingExperience creating onboarding materials, hands-on labs, or structured technical contentExperience analyzing packet captures or system logs to diagnose network and application issuesExperience implementing WAN connectivity within a large enterprise or service-provider environmentExperience creating network diagrams, implementation guides, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting playbooksKnowledge of Cisco ASA firewalls, DMVPN, and large-scale global WAN environmentsExperience supporting aviation or transportation network environmentsImportant RequirementsU.S. citizenship is mandatory. Formal training experience is a plus, but it is not required. The successful candidate must be a senior, hands-on network engineer who has previously led junior engineers, provided technical direction, served as an escalation point, and helped less-experienced team members improve their networking and troubleshooting skills.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Annapolis, MD.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
