Are you currently working as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or Field Engineer for a commercial plumbing contractor, mechanical/HVAC contractor, or commercial general contractor ?

We're partnering with a well-established commercial plumbing contractor seeking a Project Engineer to support commercial construction projects throughout the Charlotte market. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow into project management while gaining hands-on experience managing project documentation, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, procurement, and project execution.

What You'll Do

• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, field teams, vendors, and subcontractors
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Assist with procurement, material tracking, and delivery coordination
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and job costs
• Track project progress and support schedule updates
• Attend jobsite meetings and project coordination meetings
• Support quality control, safety, commissioning, closeout, and turnover activities
• Maintain accurate project records, logs, and reporting

Required Experience

• Experience supporting commercial construction projects
• Hands-on experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
• Strong organization and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
• Commercial MEP, plumbing, or HVAC project experience
• Experience working within a subcontractor or general contractor environment
