Maintenance Technician

Location: Bessemer City, NC
Pay: Based on experience

Status:  Full-time

Company-paid international training: travel, hotel accommodation, and per-diem

**US Passport and Chinese Visa costs reimbursed by employer. Must be able to travel to China for an estimated 45 days for training upon hire.**

What You’ll Do

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and maintain manufacturing machinery and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and support production.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, couplings, chains, belts, sprockets, conveyors, pumps, fans, valves, and related components.
• Diagnose equipment failures using visual inspection, sound, vibration, measurements, technical manuals, drawings, and established troubleshooting methods.
• Disassemble, repair, rebuild, replace, lubricate, and align machine components; assist with setups, changeovers, installations, modifications, and equipment startups.
• Inspect and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic components and perform basic electrical troubleshooting only within your training and authorization.
• Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, pullers, presses, and hoists safely; perform basic fabrication, cutting, grinding, or welding when qualified.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns, document repairs and parts in the maintenance system, and follow lockout/tagout, machine-guarding, PPE, GMP, gowning, and safety requirements.

 

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, machining, millwright work, automotive or diesel mechanics, or a related trade is preferred.
• At least two years of hands-on mechanical maintenance, industrial mechanic, millwright, equipment repair, automotive, diesel, or closely related experience; manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical power-transmission systems, including motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, couplings, chains, belts, sprockets, pumps, and conveyors.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to read manuals, parts diagrams, mechanical drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
• Experience with hand, power, and precision measuring tools; pneumatics, hydraulics, basic electrical troubleshooting, welding, fabrication, machining, or rigging is a plus.
• Strong safety awareness, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, dependability, teamwork, and communication skills; ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work assigned shifts, shutdowns, weekends, or emergency call-ins as needed.
