Director of Nursing - Senior LivingA well-established senior living and continuing care retirement community located in Catonsville, Maryland is seeking a highly experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to join their dedicated leadership team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for a seasoned nursing professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional care to older adults and driving clinical excellence across a dynamic residential care environment. The Director of Nursing plays a critical role in shaping the overall quality of care provided to residents.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic and operational leadership for all nursing staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistantsDevelop, implement, and continuously evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and care protocols to ensure best practices are consistently followedOversee resident assessments, individualized care planning, and coordination of services across all levels of careMonitor clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives to drive measurable improvements in resident health and safetyEnsure ongoing compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations governing senior care facilitiesRecruit, hire, train, mentor, and retain a high-performing nursing teamManage nursing department budgets, staffing schedules, and resource allocation effectivelyServe as a key liaison between nursing staff, medical providers, residents, families, and administrative leadershipLead incident investigations and root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions as neededMaintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory requirementsRequirementsCurrent and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of MarylandMinimum of five years of clinical nursing experience, with at least two years in a supervisory or leadership rolePrior experience in a senior living, skilled nursing, long-term care, or assisted living environment strongly preferredComprehensive knowledge of state and federal regulations governing long-term care facilitiesDemonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary nursing teamsStrong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and staffProficiency with electronic health record systems and clinical documentation platformsBachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master of Science in Nursing or healthcare administration preferredPreferred QualificationsExperience in a related field is preferredScreening QuestionsHow many years of experience do you have relevant to this Director of Nursing - Senior Living role?Do you hold any required licenses or certifications for this position?Are you available to work onsite in Catonsville, MD?
