As we continue to acquire and expand, we are adding a Senior Property Accountant to own the accounting for a portfolio of assets. This is an opportunity to join a stable organization with active deal flow and direct access to leadership.Established portfolio with an active acquisition and development pipeline driving real growthOwn a portfolio end to end rather than handling one slice of the accounting cycleDirect exposure to acquisitions, dispositions, and partnership structures alongside the core closeLean, experienced team with visible access to ownership and senior leadershipClear advancement track toward Accounting Manager as the portfolio expandsThis role owns the full accounting cycle for an assigned portfolio and serves as the primary accounting contact for property management. ResponsibilitiesOwn the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for an assigned portfolio of propertiesPrepare property-level financial statements with variance analysis against budget and prior yearPrepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for cash, mortgage, escrow, and intercompany accountsMaintain fixed asset, depreciation, capital expenditure, and construction in progress schedulesPerform CAM reconciliations, review tenant billings, and account for lease terms and escalationsRecord acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings, and related purchase accounting entriesPrepare lender, investor, and partnership reporting including distribution and waterfall supportLead the annual budget process for assigned properties in coordination with property managementSupport the annual audit and tax preparation with schedules and documentationReview the work of staff accountants and mentor junior team membersMinimum of 4 years of accounting experienceReal estate or property accounting experience across the full close cycleStrong understanding of GAAP, CAM reconciliations, and lease accountingProven ability to prepare property-level financial statements and variance analysisAdvanced Excel skills and experience with a real estate accounting system such as Yardi or MRIBachelor's degree in Accounting
