Community Corrections (DAJD) - Project/Program Manager II

The Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention is seeking one (1) highly motivated and organized Project/Program Manager II to join our Community Corrections Division. The primary responsibilities of this position include monitoring and reporting on a variety of projects, as well as preparing written reports and presentations to summarize analysis and research for stakeholders. About the Division The Community Corrections Division has multiple programs including Community Center Alternative Programs (CCAP), Electronic Home Detention (EHD), Intake Services Unit (ISU), and Resident Programs. Caseworkers work in CCAP and EHD. The EHD and CCAP programs are housed in the King County Yesler Building, 400 Yesler Way in downtown Seattle. EHD work with participants that are out in the community completing their sentence. CCAP work with participants who partake in a continuum of structured programs. ISU and Resident Programs work directly with residents housed within the secured adult facilities. To learn more, please visit: Job Duties Gather data and perform program and project analysis. Analyze data and workflow patterns to identify emerging trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement across organizational processes. Develop and implement strategic recommendations that enhance operational effectiveness, streamline practices, and support continuous organizational growth. Prepare reports and presentations to summarize analysis and research for DAJD leadership, the Executive Office, the King County Council, and other high-level stakeholders. Monitor scope and schedule of projects and report status to Division and Departmental leadership on a regular basis. Work closely with other project managers within the Department to develop appropriate performance measures for the Community Corrections Division. Regularly monitor and report on performance to Division leadership. Work with Department technology resources to enhance and automate reporting. Network with other jurisdictions to coordinate and share information. Respond to inquiries about procedures, processes and/or relevant regulations and laws. Produce regular program reports. Perform analysis to support budget recommendations. Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills To be considered minimally qualified for this role, you must demonstrate: Knowledge of and ability to select appropriate research methods for given situations and tasks. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to work on a number of projects simultaneously and complete projects within specified deadlines. Ability to analyze complex data sets and present findings. Skill in reviewing and compiling data and developing reports. Ability to effectively solve problems and apply good judgment and initiative. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when handling sensitive information. Ability to apply excellent customer service skills both orally and in writing, including the ability to provide professional and courteous service. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and OneDrive. Ability to work independently. Most Competitive Candidates Will Have The Following Three (3) years project management experience. Three (3) years of demonstrated experience in data analysis. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and OneDrive. Strong interpersonal communication and conflict management skills. Work Schedule This position will work a 40-hour work week and is overtime eligible. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., however, may be subject to change as otherwise negotiated with the successful applicant. Work Location The work associated with this position will be performed through a hybrid work model that will require both onsite and remote work. A minimum of three days a week in the office is required. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. The primary onsite work location for this position is the Yesler Building at 400 Yesler Way, Room 260, Seattle, WA 98104. Candidates must be willing and able to report to work at different locations in Seattle and Kent, including offices within the secured perimeter of detention facilities with potential inmate contact. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and, when working remotely, must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
