Strategic Initiatives Analyst I

GM Financial is the wholly owned captive finance subsidiary of General Motors, headquartered in Fort Worth, U.S. It offers auto finance solutions worldwide. Responsibilities The Strategic Initiatives Analyst I supports the development and deployment of GM Financial's strategic planning framework. Responsibilities include providing financial modeling, competitive intelligence research, business case development, and investment analysis to new lines of business. The Analyst will also support market assessment activities, lead financial modeling workstreams, manage competitive intelligence routines, and contribute to incubation of emerging business lines. In This Role You Will Support the development of business cases with cross‑functional project team members. Support market assessment activities to evaluate new initiatives. Lead financial modeling workstreams. Manage competitive intelligence routines and track emerging risks and opportunities. Contribute to ongoing incubation of emerging business lines. Qualifications Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills in Excel. Creative self‑starter who can independently move projects forward, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Curious team player with a positive attitude in a results‑driven environment. Strong commitment to timelines, collaboration, accuracy, and communication. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additional Knowledge and Skills Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work. Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias. Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights. Familiarity with AI‑assisted research, summarization, and content generation. Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection. Education & Work Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field. 1+ years of experience in strategic planning, strategic development or finance. Financial modeling and valuation in Excel is preferred.
