Overview Registered Nurse (OR) travel assignment in Kodiak, Alaska, United States. Perioperative care in an operating room unit within an acute care setting. Start date: 10/05/2026. Duration: Weeks. Shift: 5x8 Days. Weekly pay: $3,028-$3,309. Guaranteed hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks. This role involves on-call weekend coverage and relies on Epic for charting. Housing is provided. Key Highlights Weekly pay: $3,028-$3,309 per week Guaranteed hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks Start date: 10/05/2026 Shift: 5x8 Days Duration: Weeks (travel assignment) Housing provided (1-bedroom units on-site housing typical) Responsibilities Deliver perioperative nursing care in the OR, including circulating and/or Scrub roles as appropriate for the procedure Assist with a range of cases (laparoscopic and open abdominal, orthopedics/spine, thoracic, urology) and manage blood product administration Maintain sterile technique, adherence to universal protocol (time-out), and wound care throughout perioperative phases Prepare patients pre-operatively and support recovery in PACU as needed Document in the electronic health record (Epic) and communicate effectively with the surgical team and anesthesia Participate in maintaining patient safety, quality standards, and room turnover efficiency Requirements Active RN license in hand for a compact state at submission (pending licenses not accepted) ACLS and BLS certifications Minimum 1 year RN experience; perioperative/OR experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers accepted Ability to work in an OR/perioperative environment; on-call on weekends required Local radius rule: candidate permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the assignment site Education: RN degree from an accredited nursing program (typical minimum) COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine status as specified by facility Benefits and Support Housing provided (typical 1-bedroom unit); move-in no earlier than 72 hours before contract start and no longer than 24 hours after contract end Pets not allowed; traveler responsible for departure cleaning Orientation: 40 hours Epic charting required; scrubs color: Any or business casual On-site and travel support from a dedicated recruiter; 24/7 assistance available Scheduling flexibility: block schedule accommodation; locals not accepted due to distance Holiday commitment: must work 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Years Eve/Day) Pay Disclaimer Rule Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
