Medical Assistant I Unit: Pediatrics (experience preferred) Location: New Port Richey The Medical Assistant I is responsible for providing quality patient care in a team-based environment while assisting in all aspects of medical practice under direct supervision of a clinician to prepare and assist Premier Community HealthCare Group (PCHG) providers for patient visits. This role will partner with providers and office support to provide best-in-class experience and care to our patients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Facilitatepatient visitsandensurepatientsareassistedinatimelymannerandmaintainhigh patient satisfaction. Clericaldutiesmayinclude,butarenotlimitedto, sendingorreceivingpatientmedicalrecords; authorizations; obtaining lab/X-ray reports, hospital/specialists’ consultation notes, completing forms and requisitions as needed Labdutiesmayinclude, but arenotlimitedto,collectingblood,tissueorotherlaboratory specimens, logging the specimens, and preparing them for testing Rooming and wrap-up duties may include, but are not limited to, recording medical information/history,takingvitalsigns/measurements,maintainingexamrooms, cleaningand sterilizing reuseable instruments Medicationmanagementdutiesmayinclude, butarenotlimitedto,medicationadministration, completing logbooks, and medication storage management. Proceduraldutiesmayinclude,butarenotlimitedto,EKG,spot vision,OAEtest,etc. PerformalldutiesaccordingtopoliciesandproceduressetforthbyPCHGwhilerepresenting PCHG’s mission through behavior, language, and actions. Know peers within clinic and know where to find resources to perform duties. Reach out to Clinical Lead,DirectorofNursing,DirectorofRisk&Compliance,andtrainingdepartment as needed. PerformonlythosefunctionsforwhichCareTeamMemberiseducationallyprepared. Obtainpropercompetenciesandstrivetoobtainfurthercompetenciessuchaslabdraws,vaccine administration, and protocol-based medication refills. As competencies become proficient, the ability to provide appropriate coverage among multiple departments will be expected. ProvidementoringfornewCareTeamMembers whenrequested. EnsureconfidentialityandHIPAAcomplianceat alltimes. Keepothercareteammembersinformedwhensituationsoccurthatdisrupttimelypatientflow through site. Qualifications: HighSchool DiplomaorGED Proofofgraduationfrom anaccreditedMedical Assistingprogram withintheStateofFlorida CurrentBasicLifeSupport(BLS)certification Oneyearofexperienceinamedical clinicsetting preferred ObtainandmaintainEpiccertification/annualcompliancetrainingthroughoutemployment. ObtainandmaintainAnnualSkillsCompetencies.
