CRANE OPERATOR

Crane OperatorThe Crane Operator is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials on a work site using a crane in a safe manner.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesOperate the crane to lift, move, and position machinery, equipment, products, or other large objectsUse proper hoisting attachments and observe the load to ensure that it is secureCompare the load weight with the capacity of the crane in order to prevent overloadingPerform a pre-inspection on any equipment operatedAssist in the maintenance and routine housekeeping of the work area and equipment being usedManipulate crane controls in a safe manner and direct the crane to the appropriate destination while effectively communicating via written, oral, and/or signaled instructionsObey and follow all safety rules and policiesWear all appropriate safety equipment (PPE)Perform all other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisorMinimum Qualifications And RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalent education2+ years crane operating experienceMust be certified as a crane operator through a third party certifierBasic written and verbal skillsAbility to perform basic mathematical skillsMust be reliable and have the ability to accept responsibility for his/her actionsFor new hires, must meet all Performance Energy Services employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screenFor new hires, must successfully complete all required training by Performance Energy ServicesPhysical DemandsStand – OccasionallySit – FrequentlyUse Hands – ConstantlyClimb – OccasionallyKneel – OccasionallyLift/Carry over – Occasionally (up to 50 lbs.)Vision – Required (Must be able to pass vision exam per appropriate medical requirements)Hearing – Required (Must be able to pass an audio test per OSHA standards)Working ConditionsWet or Humid (non-weather) – OccasionallyWorking near moving mechanical parts – FrequentlyWorking in high places – OccasionallyExposed to fumes or airborne particles – FrequentlyExposed to toxic or caustic chemicals – NoneOutdoor weather conditions – ConstantlyRisk of electric shock – OccasionallyWork with explosives – NoneRisk of radiation – OccasionallyNoise Level – Very Loud
