VP, Internal Audit

The Vice President of Internal Audit, reporting to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and administratively to the President/CEO, is responsible for establishing and leading a comprehensive and forward‑looking internal audit strategy for Wright‑Patt Credit Union, Inc. This role ensures that audit initiatives align with the organization’s long‑term goals, operational objectives, and risk management priorities. It provides independent and objective evaluations of WPCU’s operations, information systems, controls, and compliance with regulatory standards, contributing to the overall sound governance of the organization. Develops and communicates a strategic internal audit vision that aligns with WPCU’s mission and operational priorities. Leads the design and execution of a dynamic, multi‑year risk assessment and audit planning process, ensuring alignment with the organization’s evolving risk profile. Oversees the execution of the audit strategy through operational audit plans, leveraging the capabilities of the internal audit team and outside auditors. Provides high‑level guidance and oversight for internal audit reviews, ensuring consistency with the established strategy and audit standards. Engages regularly with the Board’s Audit Committee and senior management to communicate key audit findings, current and emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement. Oversight of membership votes and directors elections; coordination of audit committee meetings; direct and perform special audits as requested by the Board of Directors or Management. Acts as a liaison with external auditors and state/federal examiners, including but not limited to the annual external financial audit, annual audits of Information Technology Controls, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti‑Money Laundering, Member Business Lending, and others as may be appropriate. Guides the Internal Audit department in adopting innovative methodologies and technologies to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness. Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, risk awareness, and compliance across the organization. Supervises employees in the Internal Audit department. Ensure assigned business units are operating efficiently and reliably, are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and rules, have appropriate operating controls to mitigate risk, and are performing at a high level. #J-18808-Ljbffr Wright-Patt Credit Union Inc.
