Job Description

The Installation Technician supports the installation, assembly, cabling, and maintenance of equipment and related systems inside semiconductor manufacturing facilities. This hands-on role requires consistent use of safe work practices, strong mechanical aptitude, effective teamwork, and the ability to follow detailed instructions and established installation procedures in a fast-paced cleanroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site equipment installation and maintenance in semiconductor fabrication facilities according to team instructions, project requirements, and established procedures.
• Install, route, secure, fold, and pull cables using appropriate cable-routing techniques to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Use basic hand tools and mechanical equipment safely and correctly to support installation, assembly, and maintenance activities.
• Work safely and accurately in a fast-paced semiconductor FAB and cleanroom environment while adhering to all safety and cleanliness standards.
• Follow company procedures, customer requirements, safety rules, and established construction practices throughout all tasks.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area to support efficient project execution and compliance with cleanroom standards.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, customers, and other project personnel to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
• Identify installation issues, troubleshoot basic problems, and escalate complex or unresolved issues to lead team members for support.
• Assist with shipping, receiving, storage, movement, and distribution of project materials and equipment as needed to keep projects on schedule.
• Operate aerial lifts safely when trained, authorized, and assigned to tasks requiring work at height.
• Support automation, robotics, and purge system installations as part of broader semiconductor equipment projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project execution and overall company operations.

Essential Skills

• Basic mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools for installation, assembly, and maintenance tasks.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.
• Effective verbal communication skills and strong teamwork, with attention to safety, quality, integrity, and productivity.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as required by installation and material-handling tasks.
• Ability to stand or walk for six or more hours per workday and to climb stairs or ladders as needed.
• Ability to kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
• Willingness and ability to wear cleanroom garments and required personal protective equipment, including gowns and masks.
• Ability to work in areas with yellow lighting typical of semiconductor fabrication environments.
• Ability to operate aerial lifts after completing the required training.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely in environments involving power tools, electrical cabling, and mechanical equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in semiconductor environments, equipment installation, construction, mechanical assembly, electrical cabling, low-voltage work, or a related technical setting.
• Experience working in a cleanroom or other controlled manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with semiconductor fabrication facilities (FAB) and cleanroom protocols.
• Experience with mechanical assembly, retrofits, and basic electrical or low-voltage cabling.
• Exposure to robotics, automation, or purge systems used in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or technical diagrams.
• OSHA, aerial-lift, or other relevant safety training or certifications.
• Reliable transportation and a strong record of consistent attendance.
• Comfort working with power tools and troubleshooting basic mechanical or installation issues.

Work Environment

This role is based in a semiconductor fabrication facility and cleanroom environment, working Monday through Friday from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some overtime as needed. You will spend most of your time on your feet in a FAB and cleanroom, wearing full cleanroom garments and required personal protective equipment, including gowns and surgical masks throughout the shift. The position involves working in areas with yellow lighting and around advanced semiconductor manufacturing tools, automation systems, robotics, and purge systems. You will regularly use hand tools and power tools, operate mechanical equipment, and may use aerial lifts after completing required training. Protective footwear is required, including ASTM F2413-compliant safety-toe, mid-cut boots that cover the ankle. The work includes physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs or ladders, and performing repetitive motions. There may be 2 to 3 weeks of initial training in an office or training environment before transitioning to work inside the semiconductor FAB.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
