Pediatric Interventional Radiologists of Florida (PIRF) is a physician‑owned private practice contracted to provide exclusive pediatric interventional radiology services to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) in St. Petersburg, Florida. We are seeking to expand our team with two highly qualified, fellowship‑trained pediatric interventional radiologists. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated professional to join a private practice pediatric interventional radiology practice serving an academic children’s hospital at the ground level. The Role This is a long‑term 1099 contractor position that offers significant flexibility in scheduling. The role encompasses the full spectrum of pediatric interventional radiology, including: Soft tissue biopsies Lumbar punctures Drainage procedures Ablations Central venous access GU interventions Pain management Angiography/embolization Thrombectomy Sclerotherapy Vascular Anomalies Clinic: Staffing a busy, multidisciplinary clinic as part of serving the only health system on Florida’s west coast with offering this specialized team. Experience in this area is a valuable asset. Our Environment State‑of‑the‑Art Facilities: Services are currently provided in a dedicated suite within the JHACH’s cardiac catheterization lab. A new, state‑of‑the‑art angiography suite is under construction within the operating rooms, which will streamline access to anesthesia services. Clinical Volume: Our service currently handles over 2,100 interventional radiology‑specific procedures annually, with a goal of reaching a full complement of three interventional radiologists to manage current volume. Patient Support: Interventional Radiology patients at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital are supported by four advanced practice providers and a dedicated complement of Interventional Radiology nurses and technologists. What We Offer Flexible Schedule: The contracted position requires 20 weeks on service/call and 17 weeks as the “back‑up” Interventional Radiologist. The back‑up interventional radiologist is required to be within 45 minutes of the hospital (in case needed by the primary interventional radiologist) and is responsible for staffing the vascular anomalies clinic (½ day on Tuesdays) and IR clinic (½ day on Thursdays). Professional Autonomy: This position has no diagnostic radiology responsibilities. Diagnostic moonlighting opportunities may be available for interested/qualified individuals. Academic and Career Growth: Qualified candidates may be eligible for an academic appointment at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Ample time can be provided for research. Other Practice Opportunities: Our contracted physicians may pursue adult interventional/diagnostic radiology opportunities beyond Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.
