DIRECTOR, CORPORATE RELATIONS

Summary

The Director, Corporate Relations will support the Foundation's mission by developing new corporate partnerships and managing and enhancing current partnerships. Working closely with the Senior Director, Corporate Relations and in coordination with the Chief of Staff/Chief Public Affairs Officer (CPAO), the Director will contribute to and help execute an aggressive corporate fundraising plan of $10-20 million aligned with the Foundation's strategic goals. The Director will cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate donors, manage a portfolio of corporate prospects in collaboration with Regional Office Directors and other NFWF staff. Strong communication skills are required to effectively articulate the Foundation's mission and programs and to interact with high-profile corporate representatives. Success will be reflected in dollars raised, stronger partnerships, a more resilient diversity of funders, and a development function positioned to support the Foundation's conservation mission for years to come.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Senior Director, Corporate Relations in developing and coordinating corporate funding strategies in consultation with the CEO, CPAO, and Regional Office Directors.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective corporate donors for five to seven figure gifts to support the Foundation's strategic goals.
• Develop and maintain long-term relationship strategies to grow and expand partnerships with corporations.
• Collaborate with Regional Office Directors to develop, manage, and strengthen corporate partnerships.
• Develop prospect strategies and support all facets of the donor engagement process including donor research, meeting preparation, briefings, corporate marketing materials, follow-up proposals, reports, and acknowledgements.
• Work closely with the Communications Department to develop collateral materials, presentations and update NFWF corporate partner web pages as needed.
• Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date corporate donor records and provide information on corporate prospects for the prospect tracking system/CRM.
• Contribute to the creation, execution, and evaluation of the corporate annual fundraising plan.
• Assist in departmental strategic planning related to current and potential corporate partners.
• Provide regular updates and reports to the Senior Director, Corporate Relations and CPAO on fundraising progress and strategy.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all corporate giving including managing production of acknowledgement letters.
• Assist in preparing board materials, presentations, and reports related to corporate development activities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices in development.
• Ability and willingness to travel on short notice.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Track corporate logos and other activities necessary for accurate reporting of Corporate Donors in Annual Report.
• Develop new processes where needed and recommend and lead efforts to improve existing processes.
• Other special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS)

• Bachelor's degree and minimum ten years of successful fundraising experience with emphasis on corporate giving preferred. Graduate degree a plus.
• Experience and proven track record in nonprofit fundraising, including experience with corporate donors and relationship management.
• Knowledge of conservation issues preferred.
• Strong understanding of fundraising principles, best practices, and donor cultivation strategies.
• Highly polished and poised under pressure; ability to interact effectively with high-profile individuals.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills that facilitate managing multiple priorities and concurrent projects on deadline.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes.
• Strong team player with exceptional collaboration skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and follow-through skills.
• Flexibility and ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency in fundraising software and databases as well as the Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Claude, Copilot, Smart Simple, CRM systems, etc.
• Willingness and ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.

COMPENSATION

$180K per year (Starting range based on experience)

Note: Salary is negotiable and may be higher depending on the candidate's skills and experience.
