Business Operations Manager

Quinnipiac University is seeking a highly collaborative and strategic Business Operations Manager to join the Office of Strategic Programs & Initiatives (OSPI), a dynamic and revenue-generating division that develops innovative programs, partnerships, and initiatives that advance the university's mission and expand its impact. This is an exciting opportunity to step into an inaugural role and help build the operational infrastructure that supports a growing portfolio of strategic initiatives. As a key member of the OSPI leadership team, you will lead financial administration, optimize operational processes, and serve as a trusted partner to university stakeholders, helping position the department for continued growth and success. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and resourceful professional who enjoys creating systems and processes from the ground up. You combine strong financial and operational acumen with exceptional relationship-building skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Higher Education Administration, or a related field required. Master's degree or relevant professional certification preferred.

Qualifications:

Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in business operations, financial administration, project management, or a related operational role. Experience with project management. Experience working in a revenue-generating unit or entrepreneurial university environment. Ability to manage multiple logistics and projects simultaneously. Demonstrated experience effectively managing budgets, forecasting, HR processes, and operational administration. Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, enterprise and project management systems (e.g., Colleague, Workday or Oracle). Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds. Preferred: Experience in CRM and registration platforms (e.g. salesforce, Monday.com, cvent). Monitor and manage compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws applicable to higher education revenue activities, including Unrelated Business Income Tax (UBIT), sales/use tax, and independent contractor classifications.
