PGS Worldwide is seeking a Construction Estimator in Palmdale, California for a 6-month contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite position supports planning, budgeting, and execution of construction projects at a large aerospace facility. The role focuses on cost estimating, quantity takeoffs, bid support, change analysis, and cost control for complex infrastructure and facilities projects.

Required Skills

• Certified Construction Estimator or equivalent experience with 5+ years of construction estimating experience
• 2–4 years of experience performing construction estimating for large-scale, high-tech, or government-contracted projects
• Experience with artificial intelligence and estimating programs
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Sage Estimating, WinEst, or ProEst
• Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar analytical tools
• 5+ years of experience with construction methods, materials, codes, and industry standards such as AIA and ASCE
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and BIM models
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to present complex cost data to varied audiences

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience supporting aerospace or defense-related facilities
• Experience supporting a prime contractor environment
• Knowledge of government contracting regulations
• Knowledge of cost accounting standards

What You'll Do

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and specialized aerospace facility scopes
• Develop and maintain estimating templates, unit cost databases, and historical cost data
• Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, procurement, construction teams, and subcontractors to clarify scope and identify constructability concerns
• Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and BIM models
• Apply labor, material, and equipment rates to develop accurate estimates
• Generate bid packages, subcontractor quotations, and value engineering analyses
• Track bid results and provide post-bid cost reviews
• Support change order evaluation and cost impact analysis throughout the project lifecycle
• Contribute to risk assessments, contingency planning, and cost control reporting
• Help ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and applicable government regulations

Pay

• $23.00 - $60.00/hour
