Green Veneer Production Associate - Days - Springfield Plywood

To keep up with production levels, monitoring quality and working safely. Clean up sawdust, chips, Veneer, bark, Using shovel, broom, air hose, forklift, rake, wheelbarrow, conveyors, etc. Unplug jams and plugs in conveyor systems and chippers. Report all broken machinery and oil leaks to Supervisor immediately. Help with blowdown on a regular basis, as directed by Supervisor. The worker may be required to rotate to different positions for cross training purposes or to facilitate production. Assist Co-Workers or maintenance personnel in basic maintenance and upkeep of machine. Machine noise to include machine being operated as well as other machines close by including Loaders.

Personal Protective Equipment Required : (When entering and exiting mill or while out on the floor) Use broom, rake, shovel, air hose, picaroon, peevey, chainsaw, and Bobcat.

• Reading and speech required to communicate comprehension of Job Hazard Analysis, machine specific lockout procedures, monthly safety training, etc.
• The worker generally works alone or with a partner with little supervision. Do only maintenance you are trained to do and keep all body parts out of machinery.
• Always use our 14-step lockout/tagout procedure before doing any maintenance, clearing jams, or getting into machinery for any reason; be aware of stored energy.
• Always use proper body mechanics (ex: don't overreach, get help as needed to push loads out).
• Be aware of and communicate with your co-worker at all times (ex: forklift driver).
• Will be required to read and write during safety training.
