Journeyman Electrician

Vulcan Materials Company is the nation’s largest producer of construction aggregates and a major producer of aggregates-based construction materials including asphalt and ready-mixed concrete. Responsibilities Promote safety in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Repair and maintain electronic equipment such as aggregate, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete, ship, and rail unloading systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical wiring, appliances, fixtures, and machinery; correct issues and improve reliability. Inspect equipment, systems, and structures per scheduled checks; identify malfunctions and unsafe conditions. Interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specifications to determine safe installation procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in construction or industrial electrical work preferred. Strong knowledge of electrical codes and theory; motor control preferred (NEC, NESC, & MSHA). Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noises. Willingness to work overtime and extended hours when required. Mechanical skills: knowledge of electrical tools, their uses, and maintenance. Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision programs.
