Sr. Data Quality Leader - Fabric/Azure

Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. Data Quality Leader in Bethesda, Maryland to establish and own the enterprise data quality practice for a Microsoft Fabric–based data platform within a fast‑paced private credit lending environment. This is a greenfield opportunity to define standards, controls, and certification processes that ensure trusted, audit‑ready data from ingestion through curated analytics layers. The Senior Data Quality Lead will architect and operationalize an enterprise data quality framework across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers, enabling continuous visibility into data health, certification readiness, and operational risk in a highly regulated financial environment. Responsibilities for the Senior Data Quality Lead include: Design and implement an enterprise data quality framework across Microsoft Fabric Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers Define data quality taxonomies, validation rules, acceptance thresholds, and certification criteria Build automated source‑to‑target reconciliations, regression testing suites, and data profiling controls using SQL and Fabric-native capabilities Establish exception management workflows, including remediation tracking, root‑cause analysis, and stakeholder reporting Develop production‑readiness and data certification signoff procedures to support audit and regulatory requirements Integrate data quality metadata, lineage, and controls into Microsoft Purview governance tooling Produce audit evidence packs and executive reporting that demonstrate data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency Required Qualifications for the Senior Data Quality Lead include: 8+ years of experience in data quality, data governance, or data engineering within regulated financial environments Hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Pipelines, OneLake) Strong SQL skills for reconciliation, validation, and data profiling Experience implementing data observability and testing frameworks (Great Expectations, Soda, Deequ, Monte Carlo, or similar) Proven knowledge of financial systems, such as loan servicing, accounting, or portfolio management platforms Experience integrating governance, lineage, and quality controls with Microsoft Purview Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data risk into business and audit‑ready outcomes Compensation for the Senior Data Quality Lead includes: Salary Range: Competitive and based on experience Benefits Package: Comprehensive benefits package offered (details provided during interview process) #J-18808-Ljbffr Piper Companies
