Orthopedic Surgeon Requirements

• Active Pennsylvania medical license
• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery
• Recent orthopedic procedural experience within the past 12 months, including at least 100 general orthopedic procedures reflective of the scope of privileges requested, or successful completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency or clinical fellowship within the past 12 months
• Required experience with arthroscopy, total joint replacement, joint revision or repair, tendon release or repair, and peripheral nerve surgery
• Shoulder, hip, and knee case experience is especially important for revision and repair procedures; hand and spine experience are a plus
• Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-acuity trauma environment

Orthopedic Surgery Responsibilities

• Provide on-site orthopedic call coverage during the scheduled coverage dates
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage orthopedic patients in a Level I trauma center setting
• Perform orthopedic procedures and surgical interventions as clinically indicated
• Support complex orthopedic cases involving arthroscopy, joint replacement, revision or repair, tendon repair, and peripheral nerve surgery
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to deliver timely, high-quality patient care
• Respond to urgent orthopedic needs with strong clinical judgment and professionalism
