Nuclear Safety Analysis Engineer

Working remotely on a contract basis, the Safety Analysis Engineer, Nuclear will perform deterministic nuclear safety analysis and transient/accident modeling to support U.S. NRC licensing submittals while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities Perform deterministic safety analysis using RELAP5-3D code for the Natrium sodium fast reactor Analyze design basis accidents (DBAs) and licensing basis events (LBEs) to support reactor licensing with the US NRC Develop safety analysis reports, including the Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR), and maintain documentation of models and analysis results Required qualifications Extensive experience in nuclear safety analysis and reactor system modeling Proficiency with safety analysis software such as RELAP5, TRACE, or similar Experience in transient and accident analysis for NRC submittals Degree: B.S. with 10+ years or M.S./Ph.D. with 5-7+ years in nuclear engineering or a relevant field Strong knowledge of nuclear systems thermal-hydraulics, reactor physics, and transient phenomena
