Staff Pharmacist

Job Title: Pharmacist (PRN / As Needed) Location: Hudson, Wisconsin 54016 Contract Duration: July 1, 2026 – September 30, 2026 Schedule: This position provides weekend, PTO, and after-hours pharmacy coverage on an as-needed basis. Weekend Coverage Approximately 2 scheduled weekend shifts per month (4-week rotation) Saturday/Sunday: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM Weekday Coverage As needed for PTO coverage 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM On-Call Coverage Weekdays: 6:00 PM – 10:00 AM Weekends: 4:00 PM – 12:00 PM Requirements Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License required Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required Experience with on-call, overnight, or after-hours pharmacy coverage preferred Non-sterile compounding experience preferred Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, medication therapy management, and patient counseling Responsibilities Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications in accordance with state and federal regulations Provide patient counseling regarding medication usage, dosage, storage, side effects, and drug interactions Monitor medication compliance and identify potential overuse or drug-related concerns Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and controlled substance requirements Compound non-sterile medications as needed and prepare medications according to established standards Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care Provide consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medications Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters Maintain appropriate inventory levels of medications and pharmaceutical supplies Identify and resolve medication-related problems while communicating recommendations to providers Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff as needed Participate in after-hours and emergency dispensing services during assigned on-call periods Preferred Qualifications Previous retail, long-term care, specialty, or community pharmacy experience Experience working independently during after-hours operations Strong communication, clinical judgment, and problem-solving skills Ability to respond promptly to urgent medication needs during on-call coverage Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 1 - 3 years Salary: $65 - $69 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
