Chartered by the state of Tennessee in 1964, the Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, educational organization that documents and interprets the history of country music. The Museum collects objects and archival materials that illustrate the evolving history and traditions of country music and provides diverse learning opportunities through educational programs, publications, and exhibitions.
First opened in 1967 on Nashville's Music Row, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum launched its current downtown location in 2001. In 2014, the Museum unveiled a $100 million expansion that doubled its footprint. The Museum now encompasses 350,000 square feet of exhibition galleries, archival storage, retail stores, and event space. The Museum owns Hatch Show Print, a letterpress print shop opened in 1879, and it operates Historic RCA Studio B, where Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, and many others recorded. In addition, the Museum offers the Taylor Swift Education Center for students, teachers, and families, and dedicated performance spaces in the CMA Theater and Ford Theater, both of which regularly host nationally recognized live music and cultural events. In 2024, the Museum was awarded the prestigious National Medal of Arts by President Joe Biden. The medal is the highest award given to artists and arts institutions by the United States government. The White House Citation, which accompanied the medal, recognized the Museum's work, which "preserves history, honors giants of the genre, and inspires future generations to write their own songs about the American story." Specific Job Duties Include:
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation for campaigns across Museum divisions that drive earned revenue and membership.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally and with external agencies to launch media buys and fulfill advertising secured including digital/social, print, radio, streaming, TV, outdoor, and other media.
- Conduct market research and analyze performance metrics to optimize ongoing campaigns and inform future campaigns.
- Manage marketing budgets for various Museum lines of business, ensuring effective allocation of resources, responsible expense management, and execution of plans that drive measurable results and positive return on investment.
- Assist in the development and execution of digital, email, on-property, and paid social marketing strategies, as well as partnership promotions.
- Help grow the Museum's organic presence in both traditional search engines and AI-powered search results through SEO and GEO implementation.
- Support eCommerce initiatives across store websites, emails, and social media.
- Identify and pilot new marketing tactics to broaden the Museum's reach, increase ticket and membership revenue, and promote ancillary revenue streams (retail, food and beverage, venue rentals, etc.).
- Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Digital, Communication or related field
- Minimum of 3 years marketing experience; 1-2 years in revenue or performance marketing preferred
- Proficiency in analyzing and reporting on campaigns (digital, paid, and otherwise)
- Experience with MS Office, Google Analytics, CMS (WordPress, Shopify)
- Knowledge of SEO, paid advertising, email marketing, and social media
- Exceptional project management, attention to detail, and communication skills to balance the varied goals and objectives of each project or campaign
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including email communication and group presentations
- Prior museum, hospitality, tourism, not for profit, ticketing, publishing, digital content, agency or related experience preferred
- Basecamp, BrightEdge, CMS (WordPress, Shopify), CRM (Tessitura) experience preferred
- Highly innovative and strategic self-starter with strong business acumen and a growth mindset
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
