Accounting Specialist

Job Position: Accounting Specialist Location: Marengo, IL 60152 Pay Rate: $55,000 to $70,000/yr BOE Shift: 1st shift, Mon-Fri, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Description: The Accounting Specialist supports day-to-day financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance within a regulated environment. This role plays a critical part in accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting, helping to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial data. Accounting Specialist Duties and Responsibilities Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain organized and accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly account reconciliations. Assist with cash tracking, revenue reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution. Support month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare financial reports and assist with internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial controls. Assist with inventory accounting and cost tracking activities. Identify process inefficiencies and support continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and consistency. Accounting Specialist Qualifications and Requirements 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Experience in regulated industries such as cannabis, manufacturing, or retail is preferred. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Business Central, QuickBooks, Sage) and strong skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage confidential financial information with discretion. Familiarity with inventory accounting practices and compliance tracking systems (e.g., Metrc) preferred, along with the ability to support accurate financial tracking and reporting. #J-18808-Ljbffr
