Financial Analyst

Job Description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to support both operational finance and payroll functions within a fast-paced corporate environment. This role is ideal for candidates who bring strong traditional finance and analytical experience, while also being comfortable managing payroll-related responsibilities as part of a broader finance function.

This opportunity offers a balanced mix of financial analysis, reporting, operational support, and payroll administration. Approximately 50% of the role will focus on payroll processing and reconciliation activities, while the remaining responsibilities will center around financial reporting, analysis, operational finance support, and cross-functional business initiatives.

The ideal candidate will come from a broader finance or accounting background - not strictly payroll - and will be comfortable operating in a high-volume corporate environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience within manufacturing, operations, supply chain, or large enterprise organizations is highly preferred.
Responsibilities

• Perform financial analysis, reporting, and operational finance support activities
• Prepare, validate, and distribute recurring financial and operational reports
• Support monthly close activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial data validation
• Analyze financial discrepancies and escalate issues as needed
• Maintain operational trackers, reporting tools, and KPI dashboards
• Assist with payroll processing, validations, approvals, and payroll reconciliations
• Balance payroll registers within systems such as WFM, UKG, Kronos, or related platforms
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll inquiries
• Support audit compliance, payroll traceability, and internal controls
• Assist with P-card reconciliations, blocked invoices, GRIR issues, and grievance payments
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, HR, Payroll, and Operations teams
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to finance operations and reporting processes
• Contribute to compliance, operational efficiency, and business performance initiatives
• Participate in ad hoc analysis and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, payroll, or operational finance
• Experience working within large corporate or enterprise-level environments
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Experience with payroll systems such as UKG, WFM, Kronos, or similar platforms
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience preparing financial reports, reconciliations, and operational analysis
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
• Experience working with collective bargaining agreements is highly valued

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in traditional financial analyst or finance business partner roles
• Experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, or operational finance teams
• Exposure to month-end close and financial reporting processes
• Experience supporting both finance and payroll functions within the same role
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred
