Part-Time Scheduling: Employees work a part-time schedule within the availability windows below.

Weekdays: Evening shifts between 4:00 PM–10:00 PM
Weekends: Shifts between 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 2:00 PM–10:00 PM

These are available shift times, not the number of hours you will work each week.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Residential Mentor Role

Key Result Areas

The Residential Mentor is accountable to the Residential Director and is responsible for maintaining the daily structure, safety, and operation of the student dormitory. She serves as a mentor and positive role model while supporting each student's emotional, behavioral, social, and life-skills development within a structured therapeutic environment. She works alongside the clinical, academic, nursing, and residential teams to promote treatment goals and a healthy peer culture.

Qualifications

• BA or BS in Behavioral Health or a related field, or a bachelor's degree in any field with behavioral health experience or training
• Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) experience or training preferred
• CPR, First Aid, and Behavior Management Training
• Valid Louisiana driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle report
• Able to operate a passenger vehicle
• Experience working with adolescents preferred
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Residential Supervision and Student Development

• Maintain the established dormitory schedule, routines, and expectations
• Supervise students during daily living activities including hygiene, meals, study time, chores, and bedtime routines
• Foster a structured, encouraging, and clinically supportive living environment
• Teach practical life skills including personal responsibility, communication, organization, and independent living skills
• Utilize teachable moments to reinforce healthy decision-making and positive behavioral choices
• Encourage positive peer relationships and help maintain a healthy dorm culture
• Lead recreational, educational, and relationship-building group activities
• Assist students in developing problem-solving, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills
• Monitor student behavior and document observations accurately according to program standards
• Respond appropriately to behavioral, emotional, and medical situations in accordance with established policies
• Communicate effectively with families as directed while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and maintaining an organized residential environment
• Effectively utilize Evangelhouse technology and communication systems for documentation and communication
• Ability to be physically active indoors and outdoors, including walking, running, standing, kneeling, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 40 pounds
