Interventional Radiology Technologist

Role Overview Performs routine and complex interventional radiology (IR) procedures, ensuring adherence to departmental quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Examinations/Procedures: Reviews requisitions, confirms procedure details with physicians, selects appropriate equipment, and optimizes imaging while minimizing radiation exposure (ALARA). Prepares trays, positions patients, maintains sterile techniques, and assists during procedures, including acting as second scrub if needed. Patient/Family Relations: Addresses patient needs, creating a supportive environment, and collaborates on care plans based on physical and emotional status. Equipment: Identifies and reports malfunctions. General Duties: Participates in meetings, complies with policies, and embodies core values like excellence, teamwork, and respect. Professional Development: Engages in simulations, completes competencies, and stays current with regulations and standards.
