RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Must pass open book skills exam on Friday during orientation with 90% or higher score
• Three years NICU experience required
• Must have experience working with neonatal population, ventilators, and central lines
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Navy scrubs required as dress code
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Must demonstrate good communication and critical thinking skills
• Ability to multi-task and work independently required
• NICU nurses routinely float to Mother-Baby or L&D to care for newborns
• Follow AWHONN/NANN guidelines for patient ratios
• Generally work every third weekend and holiday, with potential for additional shifts as needed
• Required to work 2 extra shifts in 6 weeks
• Use MEDITECH charting system
• Must reside outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with any CommonSpirit facilities
• Driver's license required at submittal

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates as a Level III high-risk obstetric and neonatal care center featuring 11 labor and delivery rooms plus 2 OB emergency department beds, 2 operating rooms, 23 postpartum rooms, and a 27-bed Level III NICU. The facility provides comprehensive maternal and neonatal services with practitioners including OB/GYN specialists, family practice physicians, and certified nurse midwives. Resources include OB hospitalists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, neonatology experts, and 24/7 anesthesiology access, along with neonatal transport services for critical care situations.
