Job Title: Industrial Process Pipefitter Job Description

The Industrial Process Pipefitter is responsible for the layout, fabrication, installation, testing, and maintenance of process piping systems in industrial and manufacturing environments. You will read and interpret piping drawings and specifications, install carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems, and work safely around industrial equipment while adhering to project requirements and applicable codes.

• Install, assemble, and fit process piping systems including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, PVC, and other piping materials.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, blueprints, and piping specifications to plan and execute work accurately.
• Lay out pipe routing, determine spool locations, and verify field dimensions to ensure proper fit and function.
• Cut, bevel, thread, groove, and prepare pipe using appropriate hand tools and power equipment.
• Fit up valves, pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, and other process equipment as part of complete piping systems.
• Install pipe supports, hangers, brackets, and anchors to maintain system integrity and alignment.
• Perform equipment setting, rigging, and alignment activities to safely position and secure process equipment.
• Assist pipe welders with fit-up and quality control of welded piping systems to meet project and code requirements.
• Conduct hydrostatic and pressure tests on piping systems to verify leak-free operation and system performance.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, site safety requirements, and quality standards throughout all work activities.
• Coordinate work activities with other trades to meet project schedules and minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair existing process piping systems during maintenance and shutdown projects.

• Proficiency in industrial pipe fitting, including layout, fabrication, installation, testing, and maintenance of process piping systems.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, blueprints, and detailed piping specifications.
• Hands-on experience installing carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems in industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Skilled in cutting, beveling, threading, grooving, and preparing pipe using hand tools and power equipment.
• Capability to fit and install valves, pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, and other process equipment within piping systems.
• Knowledge of installing pipe supports, hangers, brackets, and anchors for structural stability and proper alignment.
• Understanding of hydrotesting and pressure testing procedures for piping systems.
• Strong awareness of OSHA regulations, site safety requirements, and quality standards, and ability to apply them in daily work.
• Ability to coordinate tasks with other trades and work effectively as part of a construction or industrial team.
• Competence in troubleshooting and repairing process piping systems during maintenance and shutdown activities.

• Experience working in industrial and manufacturing environments with process piping systems.
• Familiarity with construction practices related to industrial piping and equipment installation.
• Basic rigging and equipment alignment skills for setting pumps, tanks, and related process equipment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, code-compliant piping installations.
• Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing issues in existing piping systems and implementing effective repairs.

This role operates in industrial and manufacturing settings where you work around process equipment, piping systems, and construction activities. You will regularly use hand tools and power equipment for cutting, beveling, threading, and grooving pipe, as well as rigging tools for equipment setting and alignment. Work is typically project-based, requiring coordination with other trades and adherence to site safety requirements and OSHA regulations. The environment emphasizes safe work practices, quality standards, and effective communication to meet project schedules and maintain reliable process operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Southaven, MS.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Southaven,MS.
