Job Summary The Level II Sign Fabricator is responsible for the "Bread & Butter" fabrication, which includes cabinets, pans, and post and panel signage with an emphasis on speed over quality. The role involves assembling and fabricating custom signs using various materials and techniques, including welding, electrical wiring for illuminated signs, and overall sign manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities Fabrication & Assembly: Manufacturing and assembling various types of signs, including channel letters, monument signs, pylons, wayfinding, and illuminated signage. Operating routers, saws, brakes, and other fabrication machinery. Performing metal and plastic fabrication, including cutting, bending, and welding. Assembling and installing LED lighting systems and other electrical components. Layout and coordinate plan of procedures. Constructing templates and jigs for accurate fabrication techniques. Technical & Quality Control: Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate fabrication. Conducting quality control checks to ensure compliance with company and industry standards. Troubleshooting and resolving fabrication issues efficiently. Ensuring proper finishing, including painting, laminating, and vinyl application. Equipment & Safety: Maintaining and operating fabrication equipment safely and effectively. Following OSHA and company safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment. Performing routine maintenance on tools and machines to ensure optimal performance. Collaboration & Training: Working closely with designers, project managers, and installers to complete projects on time. Providing guidance and training to junior fabricators as needed. Communicating effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow and project completion. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in sign fabrication or a related field. Experience in metalworking, welding (MIG/TIG), and electrical wiring. Knowledge of materials such as aluminum, mild steel, stainless, and other precious metals; working knowledge of composite material, wood, acrylic, polycarbonate, and vinyl. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Familiarity with UL certification standards for illuminated signs. Problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment. • The ideal candidate will have experience in sign fabrication, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and problem‑solving skills. Preferred Certifications OSHA 10 or 30 Certification UL Certification for Electrical Sign Fabrication Forklift or Aerial Lift Certification Work Environment Combination of shop and fieldwork, including occasional outdoor installations. May involve lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, and working at heights.
